Want to learn more about what makes the people at Booost Education tick? From perfect weekends to favourite trips, we’ve been chatting with everyone to give you the inside scoop on the people working behind the scenes.

Today, we’re speaking with Matt Jones, and learning all about how they wound up as Account Executive here at Booost Education.

What drew you to Booost Education?

I suppose at its very core, I was drawn to Booost Education because I knew I could make a meaningful impact and the skills I had to offer were genuinely valued. I have worked hard over the past few years to make sure my skills were up to scratch and that I was able to ensure customer voices were not only heard but turned into real action. Working with the team at Booost Education then felt like a great fit as they wanted the same things for their customers.

Where are you located?

I am located in south Wales, not too far from the Brecon Beacons. I am proud of where I live, and I love the scenery and the people. There is always a sigh of relief when coming back from holiday or a trip and seeing that Welcome to Wales sign.

What does your perfect weekend look like?

My perfect weekend would start on a crisp October morning and would consist of hiking through Brecon, a mixture of flat trails and mountaineering, and maybe stopping off for some food in a stall somewhere on one of the trails.

My Sundays are always reserved for chilling out, which usually includes pottering on my car - a long-term project doing up my Mazda MX-5. Current jobs on my list are a new timing belt, water pump and a complete cooling system overhaul - plenty to keep me busy over the next few months! This was always one of my dream cars to work on, but another car I’d love to own (again) is a Honda Civic Type R.

I’d end the weekend with a nice Sunday dinner with ALL the trimmings - pigs in blankets, Yorkshire puddings and even sprouts. Gravy must be homemade, of course, and lots of it. Another essential element for me has to be mushy peas, although I’ve not found many who agree with me on that!

Best trip you’ve been on and why?

I think my favourite trip was to Poznan in Poland. It’s a beautiful place full of very friendly people and the food and culture are amazing. If you go, you have to try the pierogies (polish dumplings) or żurek (a super tasty sour rye soup). The Poznan town square is a vibrant place, and my highlight has to be the goat show which happens daily at midday - weird but great fun. The square was being renovated when I was there, so I’m looking forward to going back in a few years' time and seeing it all completed.
