Today, we’re speaking with Cat Quine, and learning all about how they wound up as Product Manager here at Booost Education.

What drew you to Booost?

I saw in Booost a chance to really make a difference in the Education sector, which is close to my heart as a former Uni lecturer. I looked at the Booost product and instantly knew that it would have made a huge difference to many of the students I’ve worked with over the years.

When did you know you wanted to work in product management?

This was a bit of an accident really - I had moved away from academia into another role in tech that wasn’t really suiting me, and an associate product manager role came up in my previous company. I just loved the mix of research, strategy, data, and being user and customer focused and the rest is history!

Where are you located?

I work from Nottingham, home of goose fair, the left lion, and Nottingham Forest :)

What does your perfect weekend look like?

I really mix it up! Sometimes it’s hiking in the peak district with friends, sometimes it’s being nerdy and doing a software development course. But there will always be coffee and cats… that’s a given.

Best trip you've been on and why?

I used to work on an archaeological excavation in Israel, and there’s still something so magical to me about that work. You wake up in the morning and you could discover something that day that totally changes how we think about a bit of history and the lives of ancient people. Plus you get to watch the sunrise in the desert with a coffee :)
