Team Spotlight - Tony Allsopp, Head of Design

Meet our designer, Tony, whose journey to Booost Education was driven by a passion for purpose and creativity.

What drew you to Booost?

In an effort to try and achieve Ikigai, I spent ten years designing for healthcare. Then the opportunity to build Booost came along, and it was a no-brainer for me. A chance to get in right at the beginning, build a business from the ground-up, and use my design skills for good – I finally felt like I had achieved the perfect balance of passion, mission, vocation, and profession.

When did you know you wanted to work in your field?

I’ve always wanted to be a designer – I’ve never wanted to do anything else! I can’t remember how I discovered it, but from the age of about 12 I knew I wanted to be a graphic designer. At 15 I did work experience at a small local agency and absolutely loved it – my path was set from that point!

Where are you located?

Oxfordshire, but would much rather move to Snowdonia or the Lake District so I can get out in the mountains easier!

What does your perfect weekend look like?

It would definitely involve hiking up a mountain followed by watching a big noisy gig, then some downtime watching movies with my kids.

Best trip you’ve been on and why?

Switzerland last year for my 40th birthday. Always wanted to go to the Alps, and it didn’t disappoint. Just the most beautiful place I’ve seen, and so much fun. Although driving through Arizona on the original Route 66, in a Mustang, listening to “A horse with no name” was one of the coolest things I’ve ever done.
